The Sustainable Supply Chain Seminar hosted by Great Lakes Biomimicry, the Ohio Aerospace Institute, and Parallax Advanced Research, in cooperation with the Aerozone Alliance, on March 29, 2023, was a powerful reminder of the need for organizations to prioritize sustainability in their supply chain strategy. With over 70 people in attendance, both in person and virtually, the event featured insightful panel discussions on sustainability expectations for suppliers, the importance of sustainability strategy implementation, and the impact of future regulations on supplier relationships.
The panel discussion was moderated by Dave Nash, an environmental attorney of counsel at McMahon DeGulis. The panelists, Martha Connell from Parker Aerospace, Paul Sim from The Boeing Company, and Cathy Vail from EY, shared their perspectives on sustainability and highlighted how organizations can adapt to meet the expectations of their customers.
The event aimed to help companies position themselves as business-to-business suppliers of choice, understand the expectations of major customers such as Parker Hannifin Corporation and Boeing, as well as understand the market realities of the emerging sustainable economy. Each of these themes are crucial for companies to know and implement to attract top talent and stay competitive in the marketplace.
The Sustainable Supply Chain Seminar served as a prelude to a series of events that will take place through 2023. This series, sponsored by Cuyahoga County, will focus on topics like “Understanding Federal Incentives for Reducing Greenhouse Gas Pollution” and provide deeper learning opportunities for attendees. The next event in the series will take place on May 10, 2023.
Overall, the Sustainable Supply Chain Seminar was a great success, bringing together leaders from various industries to discuss the importance of sustainability and its impact on business. We look forward to the upcoming events and to helping more organizations embrace sustainable practices in their supply chain strategies. Stay tuned for more information about the May 10, 2023, event!
